The yearning to engage consciously in evolution, towards unfolding the highest potential of humanity, seems to be growing in our time as a deep recognition of our purpose. It coincides with access to tools never before available on such a scale: synergistic tools of spiritual and psychological practice, science, vibrational technology, communication and new paradigms in business.

The yearning to transform vision into reality is, however, challenged by its antithesis of human-wrought destruction, degradation and exploitation which surrounds and threatens us. One key for our time is found in Jung's juxtaposition of the search for perfection with the search for wholeness. Healing wounds, whether of the individual or group, of body, psyche or society, requires us to integrate shadow and light, pain and dream, limitation and perfection. In the context of healing illness, Bernie Siegel writes, "We grow strong in the broken places." Chaos can herald creativity and transformation, even a choice of destiny, both individually and collectively. In the words of Teilhard de Chardin: "Some day, when we have mastered the winds, the tides and gravity, we will harness the energies of love. Then, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire."
