In our time this central pivotal fact has been put into question. In many instances it is merely brushed aside as Christianity loses its importance for modern people. There are those who feel that the religion named after Him stands or falls with the answer we give to the question of His divinity. Is there a way in which we can approach this subject without relying on statements of faith or dogma but with rational heart-warmed thinking? Peter van Breda worked for many years in South Africa as a priest and is now based in London. Apart from his theological studies he has been particularly interested in the evolution of human consciousness in the light of the history of art.
