The universe is a web of life. All beings are totally interdependent and interconnected. There is a unity of life manifesting in multiple forms. So what is of personal benefit is also beneficial to the planet, and what is beneficial to the planet is also beneficial to the person. Satish Kumar will explore through discussions and exercises how to balance the personal and spiritual well-being with planetary and political sustainability. Spirituality, ecology, sustainability and justice are part of the same tapestry; this will be the subject of understanding and experience.

Satish Kumar is editor of Resurgence magazine - a journal of ecology, spirituality and the arts. He is also Director of Programmes at Schumacher College. He is author of several books, most recently You Are, Therefore I am: A Declaration of Dependence (2002) and The Buddha and the Terrorist: The Story of Anguilimala (2004).
